Mission League Finals: FSHA Moves On, St. Francis and Colin Just Miss

Flintridge Sacred Heart was already assured of an At-Large spot through their season-long ranking in Div. IV, but every race is a chance to get better at racing. They took that chance at today’s Mission League Finals on the hilly 3 mile course at Crescenta Valley Park, finishing a solid third, with three in the top ten.  Stephanie Vargas was 4th in 19:47, followed by Riley Gilmartin 5th/20:07 and Maddie Peterson 7th/20:24.  But the Tologs are still short handed, and their 4-7 runners will have to step forward if they’re finish well at CIF.

St. Francis turned in their best team performance of the year, finishing an agonizing 2 points out of the fourth and final CIF spot.  Just as disappointing was the the 8th place/16:18 finish of senior Colin Peterson, just two places and five seconds away from advancing as an individual.
