Sixteen SGV school’s will compete over a hilly 3 mile course in LA’s Griffith Park at the Bell Jeff Invite, with Los Altos looking to improve on their 2nd place finish here last year, and La Salle’s Daniel De La Torre racing in the Seeded event.  The Arcadia girls will test themselves against the OC’s best in the big Dana Hills Invitational.  Eight other SGV schools will make the trip, including ranked Bonita, South Pasadena, and Pasadena Poly.  Glendora leads four other SGV schools at the small Wayne Walker Invite at Craig Park in Fullerton.

Bell-Jeff Invitational – Los Angeles, CA.  3 miles over a hilly course in Griffith Park – 47 schools are entered.  Results will be here.  The Los Altos boys were second in the this meet last year, and with a stronger team, they’ll look to reclaim the title they won in ’09 in the larger Red Division, where they’ll be joined by Alhambra, Monrovia, and San Gabriel.  In the medium sized White Division, La Canada and St. Paul, both coming off of strong mid-week league meets, will look to contend.  The SGV’s Bassett, Ganesha, Mark Keppel, Pomona Catholic, and Ramona Convent are in this division.  Cantwell Sacred Heart has high hopes in the smaller Blue Division, where they’ll be joined by Alverno, Flintridge Prep, and Webb.  As mentioned above, there is a separate Seeded Race, where Daniel De La Torre and his La Salle teammates will face XC powers Loyola, Cathedral, and Salesian.

Eight SGV schools will travel to south Orange Country for the big (93 schools) Dana Hills Invite.  The course is 3 miles, a mix of pavement and grass, and net downhill.  The teams are divided into three divisions, with the Arcadia girls looking to confirm their CIF Div. I #5 ranking in the biggest division.  In the second division, the Bonita girls and junior leader Marissa Scott will face a stronger field than last week, and they’ll be joined by Claremont and Diamond Bar.  The ranked boys and girls teams from South Pasadena and Pasadena Poly will contend in the smaller, third division.  They’ll be joined by St. Lucy’s and Maranatha, whose team leader Kyle Buechert will look to be up front.

They compete by class divisions at the Wayne Walker/Sunny Hills Invitational.  This small (28 team) meet is run over a somewhat hilly 3 mile course over dirt trails, grass and a little bit of pavement.  Glendora returns to the meet after several years away, and they’ll be faced with top competition from St. John Bosco and Valencia and the SGV’s La Serna.  Baldwin Park, Charter Oak, and San Dimas are also scheduled to compete.
