Week 11: Big Times at CIF Prelims

The San Gabriel Valley is just one part of the massive CIF Southern Section. Bigger than all but three states, just advancing to CIF is like going to any other state meet, and our CIF Finals is superior to making almost every other State’s Finals.

That’s why we should give great honor to the athletes who have advanced to Saturday’s big meet at Cerritos College.  The SGV will be represented by…

  • Div. I: 6 boys, 9 girls and 1 relay
  • Div. II: 8 boys and 11 girls
  • Div. III: 30(!) boys, 16 girls and 8 relays
  • Div. IV: 6 boys, 14 girls and 2 relays.

And here are this past week additions to the San Gabriel Valley All-Time Performers Lists

The top female performer this week was Arcadia junior Lauren Buehner. The long sprinter won both events at the Pacific League Finals in historic times. Her 24.90 200m moves her to #38= All-Time SGV and her 400m was even stronger – her 56.35 places her #19 A-T SGV.
