9/21 Rankings: We’re Up to Twenty!

In his commentary on the latest CIF Southern Section Division Rankings, Rich Gonzalez remarked that there were “minimal changes” this week, with only five new teams entering the rankings.  But from our regional perspective - this was big news: three of those five are from the SGV, so we now have 20 ranked teams!

Woodbridge Friday: Young South Pas & St. Lucy’s are Best

Seniors Tim Corvese (Damien) and Emily Ye (South Pasadena) were the SGV’s top performers at the Friday portion of the 2015 Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, while two young teams led the SGV.  Woodbridge is run on a particularly fast and flat 3 mile course and this year attracted over 300 schools.

Woodbridge Preview

Thirty-Two SGV schools will contest the huge (yoooge?) Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, Friday and Sunday at the Great Park in Irvine.  Nearly 300 schools, with 28 from out of state, are scheduled to run this super-fast 3 mile event that is contested mostly under the lights.

Mission Valley #1 – Arroyo = 2 x 17

Arroyo ran very well at last Saturday’s Rosemead Invitational, and continued that good form with two dominating wins in the first Mission Valley League cluster meet.  The meet was held at Bonelli Park on a somewhat hilly 3 mile course.
